TAYLOR LAMBERT January 22, 2025
In November, San Jose City officials approved a program to target 30 specific streets in San Jose and slowly turn them into recreational vehicle tow-away zones. This program was approved late last year and is just taking shape. This is an effort to reduce persistent public safety hazards near parks, schools, waterways, and neighborhoods. This process will not be done all at once overnight. Instead, the City will facilitate enforcement based on specific streets and timelines. Once the tow-away signs are installed, SJ Mayor Mahan said the city will provide a grace period for residents to move their vehicles to other locations or to potentially find other suitable shelter. If RV owners do not relocate as asked, they will be provided with a notice and have two weeks to move or be towed.
