New Berryessa Union School District Boundaries!

Despite the initial discussion of closing only one school in Berryessa Union School District, the Board had decided to shut down 3 schools instead. Effectively coming Fall 2025, the three elementary schools, Toyon, Laneview and Cherrywood, will be closed. Students from these affected schools will be distributed to nearby schools. The idea of turning one of the middle schools to K-8 is still in discussion. Below, you can find the new proposed boundaries and relocation of programs that the Board has came up with.

If you are currently a homeowner in this area, your house's value could see a minor fluctuation based on your newly assigned school. You can most likely expect a better valuation if your house gets assigned to a better rated school. At the same time, don't get discouraged if your house has been relocated to a lower rated school. After all, a house's value in the Bay can be derived from many factors (i.e. commute time, quality of neighborhood, sqft and conditions of a home, etc.).

If you're a home buyer or know anyone who is looking to buy a home in the area, be mindful of these changes! Not everyone has fully caught onto this yet, so don't overlook the houses with schools of lesser rating. If you strategize effectively, you might be able to get a house with lower price tag and could still end up with the better school.
