TAYLOR LAMBERT February 17, 2025
This week I met with a couple who’ve been searching for a home on and off for three years. Three years! Every time they got close, something made them hit pause—waiting for interest rates to drop, hoping for prices to fall, waiting for the “perfect” time. Life kept happening (new jobs, growing family, changing plans), and suddenly, the home they could have bought back then is no longer within reach.
And let me tell you, the energy in that meeting was rough. They weren’t excited anymore; they were just tired. Tired of the process, tired of waiting, and mostly, tired of realizing they should have bought sooner. Honestly, the meeting was a big downer, no matter how much I tried to lift their spirits and tell them that buying a home is still doable.
Look, I get it. Buying a home is a big decision. It costs a ton of money, takes up your weekends and can feel like a hassle. But here’s the thing—real estate doesn’t wait. The market moves whether we’re ready or not. And more often than not, waiting ends up costing more, both financially and emotionally. Which sells like a sales pitch but it's the truth! I've never heard anyone say "we bought a house too soon", but I've heard hundreds of times "I wish we bought a house sooner."
So, if you’ve been thinking about buying but keep putting it off, let’s talk. No pressure, just an honest conversation about what makes sense for you. Because the best time to buy? It’s usually sooner than you think. Like, now probably!
