Not sure if you saw this, but it shocked and grossed me out at the same time. The Whole Foods on Stevens Creek in Cupertino is temporarily closed because of a rodent and cockroach situation. Infestation? I guess the better word would be infestation. A rodent and cockroach infestation. Ewwwww
A few weeks ago, health inspectors for the county found signs of both pests in the deli, hot food, and bakery areas at the Cupertino location. The store initially tried to clean things up while staying open, just closing those sections of the store, but after a follow-up inspection didn’t go so well the County stepped in and suspended the Whole Foods operating permit. So for now, the entire store is shut down while they take care of the problem and make repairs.
There’s no set reopening date just yet, but they’re working on getting everything back to their usual standards. This spot is a favorite for a lot of folks in the area. I frequent this Whole Foods and the one on Almaden Expressway so I know it's a bit of a bummer if it's your go-to for organic produce or specialty items.
Rodents are more prevalent than you would think! On a smaller scale, many homes we see for sale initially have a rodent problem that needs exterminators to clean up the mess. We've sent out tips in the past on how to keep your home rodent-free.
Rats and cockroaches, gross! Well, hope you're having a great week otherwise!
